Public Opinion

A young man with short dark hair and light skin is smiling and crossing his arms. He is wearing a blue and white checkered shirt with a navy blue tie. The background is slightly blurred, showing an indoor setting with natural light and modern design elements.

Welcome!

I'm Robert, a PhD candidate in the Department of Politics at the University of Virginia.

My research sits at the intersection of the politics of health and public opinion in the United States. I study how political polarization shapes health attitudes, scientific distrust, and public opinion toward health policy in the US — examining how widening social and partisan divides reshape the relationship between citizens, the government, institutions of public health & science, and health policy.

I am also an Adjunct Professor of Health Studies at the University of Richmond, where I teach a course on Health Systems and Policy.

My work has appeared in Research & Politics and Preventive Medicine Reports, with additional projects currently under review.
